Instantly regarded as the best of species when these new Carrollite specimens were first found in the late 1990's, this discovery has produced some of the largest, sharpest, and most impressive crystals of this rare copper cobalt nickel sulfide seen. This excellent miniature has a Calcite matrix hosting a fine, attractively modified, and highly-lustrous silvery Carrollite measuring 2.4 cm. It has very subtle and complex patterns, and the best luster. In addition to the rhombohedral Calcite matrix, there is a sprinkling of Chalcopyrite that adds a bit of visual spice to the already great aesthetics. Better in person, one of the beauties of this piece is that it can easily be displayed in several orientations, suited to your taste. This is from the best of species discovery of the late 1990s and is a superb matrix specimen, as you so rarely see ANY on matrix at all, much less with crystallized calcite! Valued $3500-4500.
