Carrollite on Calcite with Chalcopyrite

Instantly regarded as the best of species when these Carrollite specimens were first found in the late 1990's, this discovery included some of the largest, sharpest, and most impressive crystals of this rare copper cobalt nickel sulfide seen. This excellent miniature has a Calcite matrix hosting a fine, highly-modified, and lustrous silvery Carrollite measuring 2.1 cm. Associated are golden, iridescent Chalcopyrites that add an equally 'brassy' contrast to the Carrollite and Calcite. The excellent condition and bright aesthetics both help make this such a choice miniature. Better even in person - with the highest possible luster and sharp modified crystal habit, a stunning miniature. Sadly the Pohl collection number has come off in cleaning and we cannot track it fully, but it is from the late 1990s discovery, as are her other superb examples.
