Item Description

When these Carrollite specimens were first found in the late 1990s, they were instantly regarded as the best of species ever found. The largest, sharpest, most impressive crystals of this rare copper, cobalt, nickel sulfide came out of the Kamoya South II Mine. This particular features hosts a sharp, well-formed, very lustrous, silvery color, octahedron measuring 1.8 cm on rhombic Calcite matrix. Crystals of Carrollite on matrix are certainly much harder to find than matrix pieces. The crystal on this specimen is in good shape, but the right edge is contacted, so it's not 100% pristine. These pieces seemed to have dried up quickly, and I don't know if more will be found. A great opportunity to snag to nice matrix specimen of Carrollite for a great price.
