Instantly regarded as the best of species when these new Carrollite specimens were first found in the late 1990's, this discovery has produced some of the largest, sharpest, and most impressive crystals of this rare copper cobalt nickel sulfide seen. This excellent miniature has a Calcite rhomb matrix hosting a cluster of fine, beautifully-modified Carrollite crystals. This cluster is 1.4 cm across, and the crystals have outstanding, mirror-like luster. The dramatic aesthetics are magnified by the interesting and beautiful modifications to the crystal forms. In addition to the Calcite matrix, there is a small sprinkling of Chalcopyrite that adds a bit of visual spice. Better even, in person. Top quality miniature. Valued $1250-$1750.
