Item Description

When these new Carrollite specimens were first found over 10 years ago, they were instantly regarded as the best of species ever found. Some of the largest, sharpest, most impressive crystals of this rare copper, cobalt, nickel sulfide came out of this find. This particular features hosts a fine, sharp, well formed, lustrous, silvery color, cuboctahedron measuring 6 mm on matrix. Crystals of Carrollite on matrix are less common, and the quality of this one is certainly above average. These pieces seemed to have dried up quickly, and I don't know if more will be found. A great opportunity to snag to nice matrix specimen of Carrollite for a great price. This piece comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
