Instantly regarded as the best of species when these new Carrollite specimens were first found in the late 1990's, this discovery included some of the largest, sharpest, and most impressive crystals of this rare copper cobalt nickel sulfide seen. This excellent miniature has a Calcite matrix hosting a fine, sharp, and highly-lustrous silvery cuboctahedron measuring 1.1 cm. It has very subtle and complex patterns, and the best luster. Associated are matte-black Bornite crystals and brassy Chalcopyrite. The condition and aesthetics both help make this such a choice miniature. Better in person! It is a metallic jewel!
