Item Description

A elegant trio of Carrollite crystals from this famous locality in Katanga. These rhombic dodecahedrons are well-developed, with classic, silvery color and excellent luster. You can even see reflections in the faces of the two largest Carrollites. The largest crystal is 1.4 cm, and they sit perfectly on top of this large Calcite rhomb. Normally, the Carrollites are buried within the Calcite, but here they sit atop the natural surface of the Calcite, which is unusual and remarkable in and of itself. There is associated Chalcopyrite, which provides a very nice accent. Seldom do you find such good aesthetics for this very rare cobalt sulfide.
