Item Description
When these new Carrollite specimens were first found over 10 years ago, they were instantly regarded as the best of species ever found. Some of the largest, sharpest, most impressive crystals of this rare copper, cobalt, nickel sulfide came out of this find. This particular features hosts a fine, sharp, well formed, lustrous, silvery color, cuboctahedron measuring 6 mm on Calcite on matrix. There is some minor reddish iron staining in areas as well. Crystals of Carrollite on matrix are less common, and the quality of this one is certainly above average for quality. The crystal is damage free as far as I can see with the naked eye. These pieces seemed to have dried up quickly, and I don't know if more will be found. A great opportunity to snag to nice matrix specimen of Carrollite for a great price.
