Item Description
When these Carrollite specimens were first found in the late 1990s, they were instantly regarded as the best of species ever found. The largest, sharpest, most impressive crystals of this rare copper, cobalt, nickel sulfide came out of the Kamoya South II Mine. This particular piece is a well-formed, very lustrous, metallic silvery color, cuboctahedral crystal of Carrollite free of matrix. This is a good sized crystal for the locality and the species in general, though it is not 100% complete, as it contacted on back where it detached from the pocket wall. These pieces seemed to have dried up quickly, and I don't know if more will be found. A great opportunity to snag a small miniature sized specimen of Carrollite for a great price.
