Item Description

A sharp, old-time, gray-white microcline crystal from a classic Colorado locality. This is a textbook, left-handed, Carlsbad-twinned, microcline crystal, which are relatively rare compared to Carlsbad-twinned orthoclase crystals. A bit of scattered edgewear is noted, but this remains a rare, large, sharp and classic microcline crystal from this noted locale. Ex Howard Belsky Collection and comes with an old Lazard Cahn label dating from 1915-1940. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987. His collection recently became available to us through his family.
