Item Description

Carletonite is a Poudrette Quarry Holy Grail rare complex hydrated silicate species, unique in the world to this renowned locale. Most specimens are single crystals. This is a very colorful, rare and rich miniature of intergrown crystals. The lustrous, tetragonal crystals have rich cornflower-blue luster and a couple of quartz points are a super accent. The isolated large crystal is 1.5 cm. This very fine piece was collected by Gilles Haineult in the late 1990s. Valued at $2000. Even at this price, I think it is cheap compared to the VERY few others I have seen for sale, of any significance, in the last 10 years. To me, it is irreplaceable.
