Carletonite (Type Locality)

Item Description

Carletonite is one of the ULTIMATELY RARE mineral species UNIQUE to the famous Poudrette Quarry at Mt. St-Hilaire, Quebec. This is a very colorful, rich, 3-dimensional specimen with rich royal blue color, and a 8 mm, blocky crystal on top. There is a fragment of a 2.0 cm crystal on the side. These are very respectable size for the species, bordering on huge, and the QUALITY is high in that the 2 major crystals are freestanding rather than, as usual, embedded in a jumbly matrix of others. These came out in the late 1990s. A very repectable, larger specimen from this unique find. Valued $600-900
