These specimens started trickling out in the mid 2000s (originally labeled as Cyanotrichite - but It should be noted that many of the world occurrences for "Cyanotrichite" are turning out to be Carbonatecyanotrichite upon analysis), and are very few and far between these days on the market. With that said, Carbonatecyanotrichite is a rare hydrated hydroxy copper aluminum carbonate sulfate species, rarely found in good quality display specimen. The Qinglong Mine is the only confirmed source for the species in China. This small cabinet display specimen is one of the better pieces we've had to offer in the auctions and features beautiful velvety, radiating aggregates of brilliant blue colored Cyanotrichite with Quartz sitting on host rock matrix. You almost never see Carbonatecyanotrichite in sturdy display quality specimens like this.
