Item Description
Shimmering, sky-blue to azure-blue tufts of tiny carbonatecyanotrichite needles richly cover all sides of the sculptural large limestone matrix. Carbonatecyanotrichite is a secondary copper mineral found sparsely in the oxidation zones of copper-bearing ore bodies. This is a very beautiful specimen from recent 2018 finds in China, and is very highly representative and rich for the species and locality. Some specimens were found in the past, but not of this size. Purchased in China from new mining efforts, this is one of the larger. Rare in this size, richness and quality. These are considered as some of the finest examples of the uncommon species. Valued at $1250-1500.
