Cannonite (RARE - Co-Type piece and Type Locality) Vajdak Coll.

Item Description

Cannonite is an ultra rare Bi-sulfate approved in 1992. Tiny, colorless crystals are noted in the matrix of iridescent bismuthinite and cuprobismutite on this colorful thumbnail. This is Co-type material, adjacent to the Type Locality Tunnel Extension No. 2 Mine and personally collected by the species namesake in 1984 (and it comes with Bart's label). Few valid examples exist and this is a piece collected by Bart Cannon and in the same pocket as the registered type specimen piece. Very rare! Ex Josef Vajdak Collection.
