Item Description
Cannizzarite and Mozgovaite are RARE Pb-Bi-sulfosalts and the La Fossa Crater on Vulcano Island off of Sicily is the Type Locality for both species. The cork-stoppered glass vial hosts a myriad of highly lustrous metallic-gray lathes and slender prismatic crystals. These are VERY LARGE crystals for the species and locale, up to about 7 mm. Mozgovaite is EXTREMELY RARE. MINDAT lists only three world-wide localities, with NO photots. Cannizzarite specimens are uncommon and SELDOM in this richenss. Ex Bill Wilson Collection. We just obtained specimens from his collection and many are from Harvard.
