Item Description

Canavesite is a relatively new species that is only found in two localities in the world. According the Dana, the species is a carbonate, but Hey and Strunz define Canavesite as a borate. This large miniature size specimen has a nearly full coverage of white fibrous aggregates of Canavesite on matrix. A very good sized specimen of this rare and attractive material.
