Item Description

Tourmalines are found in every color of the rainbow, but certain hues are much rarer than others. Typically, blue, green and pink are the most commonly seen shades for Tourmalines, but THIS stone has arguably the rarest primary color you can find for the material. Not only is this stone yellow, which is already an incredibly hard to find hue for Tourmaline, but it's a BRIGHT YELLOW color, about as strong as I've seen in the material. No hints of brown or orange overtones, it's pure yellow. The material is referred to as "Canary Tourmaline", and it has a strong lemon yellow saturation. The stone has a wonderful modified "Trillion" cut, but perhaps the most impressive aspect (even more than the superb color) is that it's virtually eye-clean, which is significant, because Tourmaline is classified as "Type-3" gem, which means that inclusions are almost always present and accepted by dealers and collectors, so to find a clean gem with THIS color is a big deal! This stone came from a find about 20 years ago, I remember when they came out, and they were incredibly limited, especially in CLEAN stones approaching 3 carats. A really special and incredibly fine quality rare Tourmaline that would not just make a great addition to a gem collection, it could also be a great center stone in a unique piece of jewelry. Don't miss out on this one, we don't have another like it to offer, and they are incredibly hard to find on the market.
