Item Description
The Mammoth-Saint Anthony Mine in Tiger, Arizona is one of the most celebrated localities in the state. Some of the most eye-catchingly colorful and unique minerals came out of this mine many years ago. Here we have a classic toenail sized specimen of rich blue colored Caledonite in the form of micro crystals and massive material on matrix. The piece is best seen under the microscope, but there are discernible crystal faces to be seen. Minor white crystals of what is likely either Leadhillite or Anglesite can be seen as well. This locality has been closed for many decades, and it's quite difficult to find any decent pieces from Tiger on the market these days. They are highly sought after by both Arizona collectors and rare species enthusiasts. We have photographed this piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality.
