Item Description

A fantastic old time specimen of Caledonite from the type locality, the famous Leadhills of Scotland. This thumbnail sized piece features micro crystals of beautiful greenish-blue Caledonite which are associated with rich blue colored Linarite on host rock matrix. A very colorful and attractive specimen that looks great with magnification. If you've ever wanted a Caledonite from the type locality (which was first discovered in 1832), this is a great chance to pick up something that is rarely available on the market. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4150). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
