Item Description

Glassy, lustrous, light amber, calcite scalenohedrons fill the vug in brecciated, sculptural matrix on this classic and showy larger example from the well-known Sweetwater Mine. The two largest crystals, at 3.5 and 3.1 cm, are doubly terminated and nearly all crystals have gemmier terminations. Accessories on the matrix include tiny dolomite rhombs and iridescent chalcopyrite crystals. The dense field of calcite is in excellent shape, with only bit of periphery wear. Ex Zukowski Collection.
