Item Description
Unusual Brazilian material: Here is a showy small cabinet combination specimen of Calcite with Stellerite from an obscure trap rock quarry in the Rio Grande do Sul State of Brazil. This attractive and rare piece (for Brazil) is composed of a single, doubly terminated, 6.8 cm, rich honey colored, translucent Calcite crystal, not unlike some of those found in the limestone quarries of the Upper Midwest of the US. The Calcite dominates an underlying cluster of pinkish-red, bundles of Stellerite from 1 to 3.5 cm in size. They display a beautiful pinkish red almost pearlescent luster that we rarely see in Stellerite/Stilbite that is somewhat unique to this occurrence. It is an aesthetic small cabinet piece from a rare Brazilian Zeolite find that we rarely, if ever, see on the market!
