Item Description

This long storied historic U.S. locality has produced some of the world's finest Calcite and Fluorite specimens extant. Despite the fact that there are only a handful of minerals found at the Elmwood mine, some of them are among the most recognizable minerals in the world. This large cabinet piece hosts a predominant beautiful 4.6 cm golden orange crystal of Calcite with a very secondary Calcites, and dozens of 2-3 mm Calcite crystals sitting on Barite. The reverse side of the piece features some very nice quality "ruby jack" Sphalerite crystals, which we've tried to illustrate in the photos, but almost certainly look better in person. The Sphalerites are intermixed with minor sparkling gem Quartz crystals. This piece is virtually undamaged, save one small blemish to one of the secondary Calcites. These pieces are well known classics from the U.S. and this one really has it all from the standpoint of quality, size and displayability. Valued at $1250 retail.
