Calcite with Sphalerite

Item Description

A classic association specimen from the famous lead-zinc mining district in Scotland. This piece is approximately 100 years old since mining stopped in the region around 1930! It features a few sharp, well-formed, translucent, pale golden color Calcites surrounded by "ruby jack" Sphalerite. A bit of peripheral damage, but overall a good representation of these now very hard to find specimens. A great piece for a Calcite collector or a collector or Scottish minerals.
