Calcite with Smoky Quartz (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

Sharp, well-formed, light pinkish colored rhombic crystals of Calcite with Smoky Quartz from an undisclosed locality in Chihuahua (most likely Naica, but possibly from Santa Eulalia). The surface of the crystals is smooth and well-formed, and some of the edges even have beautiful beveled modifications. The back of the piece piece is cleaved, but the front is in really good shape. The somewhat pearly interior has a translucent light pink hue when backlit. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6424). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
