Calcite with Siderite

Item Description

An old-time, showy, cabinet combination plate from the historic iron mines of Frizington, England. Somewhat "rosette"-shaped, silky, off-white color curved rhombs of Calcite sit atop bladed tan Siderite (possibly coating or pseudomorphing after another mineral). An old sticker from noted dealer Larry Conklin is glued to the bottom of the piece. It dates back to at least 80 years ago. GREAT QUALITY, very little damage and SHOWY! BETTER IN PERSON. The largest Calcite measures 1.7 cm.
