Calcite with phantoms (incredibly lustrous!)

The calcites from Xianghualing are some of the most attractive from China and they have come in different styles over the last 30 years....some more rare than others. This piece is from a single, unique pocket from circa 2012, and features sharp, lustrous, translucent, white, highly compressed rhombohedral calcite crystals forming "pagoda"-like shaped groups. The luster is among the best for the species. They are also phantoms, more evident in person: The outer "pagoda" shape is actually the second crystallization upon the original white scalenohedral calcite crystals, within - you can see it more clearly in-person, as phantoms are hard to capture here. This is a special calcite specimen for the specific collectors and it from a small find. It is nearly pristine, with only a few trivial dings. This old material is VERY hard to source today, and this is a relatively large specimen, with very good 3-dimensionality. Valued $2500-3500.
