Calcite with phantoms

Item Description

Classic example of the relatively rare gemmy Calcites with Manganite phantoms from the famous Wessels Mine. The luster is superb, and the Calcite is perfectly gemmy save for the well-defined phantom. One end is well-terminated, while the other has been cleaved, probably from contact. The phantom is so sharp, though, it overwhelms any defect (at a price), and it is also a real plus to find one so nicely set on matrix. A very good specimen.
