Calcite with ''phantoms''

Item Description

A showy, old-time Calcite specimen from Santa Eulalia featuring well-formed, sharp scalenohedral crystals measuring up to 2.0 cm, which mostly feature a pale golden hue, with attractive contrasting dark "phantom" lines on the edges. There is no major damage that I can see with the naked eye, outside of the periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. If you collect worldwide Calcites or minerals of Mexico, these now hard to find Calcites (which were mind circa 1960s-1970s) are a must have for their elegant visceral beauty and attractive form.
From the collection of Colorado mining legend, Dave Bergman. Dave is now retired, but among other things, he was the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s.
