Calcite with Malachite inclusions (rare green color)

The Milpillas Mine in Mexico is best known for its supreme Azurite and Malachite specimens, but many other species have been found there, including these rare and interesting Calcites. This full-sized thumbnail features a fine quality group of sharp, well-formed, lustrous, translucent scalenohedral crystals which would ordinarily be white/colorless, but they have a small amount of Malachite inclusions, giving them a distinctive green hue. The color almost reminds me of certain Prehnites. I'm told that these came from a single pocket in late 2018, presumably one of the last pockets found at the mine, and they are incredibly rare on the market. Calcite specimens are rare from Milpillas, and when you throw in a unique color like this, you have something very desirable and rare from this now essentially defunct locality, as no more specimens will be found.
