Item Description

Tsumeb is arguably the most prolific of localities in the world, and one could say it is the most significant in terms of the sheer number of species and the extremely high quality of crystallized speicmens found there. This excellent near large cabinet sized specimen is loaded with dozens of sharp, lustrous, off-white, sharp, very well-formed rhombohedra of Calcite which are associated with forest-green, velvety Malachite "balls". The largest Calcite rhomb measures 2.0 cm across. There is a selective deposition of a reddish-brown species (possibly Hematite, Goethite, Mottramite ?). Additionally, some tiny spots of bright green Duftite can be seen on the edge of specimen as well. From the worldwide collection of noted Idaho collector Geary Murdock. Among other accomplishments, Geary was responsible for discovering some of the finest gem grade deep blue Aquamarine crystals in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho - which remain arguably the finest Aquamarines from any North American locality. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/36634006/geary-jack-murdock
