Calcite with iron oxide inclusions

A beautiful display specimen from the Leiping Mine featuring a scalenohedral crystal of Calcite, which plays host to a few blocky rhombic Calcites that feature pastel reddish-brown iron oxide inclusions which make for a stellar contrast against the original colorless hue of the crystals. The fine luster, excellent crystallization and beautiful overall form make this a very desirable and fine quality example of these iconic Calcites. The tip of the termination has a tiny indentation, but it's not broken, I looked at it with a loupe, and it's crystallized, so my guess is that it grew against something in the pocket, but it's complete. This is certainly one of the most eye-catching Calcites from Leiping that we've had to offer in the auctions recently, and you just don't see nearly as many of these pieces on the market as you did 10+ years ago.
