Calcite with iridescent Stibnite (rare locality specimen)

Item Description

Here we have a very rarely seen specimen from the obscure Longtoushan Sn Deposit in Guangxi, China featuring sharp, lustrous, compressed trigonal crystals of Calcite of an off-white color which have grown in beautiful "pagoda"-esque formations. If you look closely, you can see tiny iridescent needles of Stibnite which have gently coated selective faces of the Calcites. This is honestly the first specimen of this material that we've had to offer, and to the best of my knowledge, these Calcites came from a single pocket and nothing like them were found again. If you collect worldwide Calcites, obscure locality specimens or Chinese minerals, do not let this piece get away, as you may not see another one for a while.
