Calcite (with internal "phantom") (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A really cool multi-generation Calcite specimen featuring sharp, lustrous, stepped, gemmy, pale golden colored Calcite which has overgrown a dark brown to golden color Calcite scalenohedron from an earlier generation. When the piece is backlit, it glows and really looks beautiful in mutliple lightings. Good shape overall with only a little bit of surface roughness. It is cleaved on the back where it was removed from the pocket wall, but it displays well as you can see from the photos. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9859). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
