Calcite with inclusions (Rob Smith Coll.)

Item Description

Glassy, transparent, colorless, calcite rhombs to 1.6 cm are filled with oxide inclusions on this showy, 3-dimensional specimen from the famous and now-closed Tsumeb Mine. I particularly like the way, that the two largest rhombs are stacked atop each other at the crest of the piece. Trivial edgewear is a very minimal detraction to this piece. Ex Rob Smith Collection.
