Item Description

An outstanding and aesthetic complete all-around Pea Ridge calcite. The intergrown, very glassy, transparent to translucent, complex rhombs, to 2.7 cm, are included with and are preferentially coated with hematite. Some of the micro hematites are sparkly and gemmy red! The rhombs rest on dogtooth calcite crystals on a core of hematite. This mine is generally considered to be outside of the Viburnum Trend, as it was an underground iron mine and not a lead-zinc mine. Excellent and uncommon material. The mine closed in 2001. Ex Larry Krause dealer stock. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!
