Calcite with Dioptase inclusions (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A classic from Tsumeb! Sharp, colorless rhombic crystals of Calcite measuring up to 2.1 cm across which are included with emerald green micro Dioptase to create a beautiful two-tone effect. These are some of the most iconic specimens from this storied locality. This piece is in good shape overall, but there are some "rubs" here and there, along with a few Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9971). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
