Calcite with Dioptase inclusions

An enchanting and highly desirable Tsumeb combination classic. Pretty green dioptase is richly included in the sculptural dense cluster of intergrown calcite rhombohedrons, to 1.6 cm on edge. The glassy, lustrous, translucent rhombs have sugary, frosted faces. The interior is pristine and the bit of noted periphery wear is certainly acceptable in the context of this colorful and rich combination classic. This is a large, intact, well balanced specimen for this rare calcite inclusion, which only came out of a few pockets in Tsumeb in the 1970s-1980s. Valued $2500-3500.
