Item Description

This mine is obviously best known for its amazing crystallized Copper specimens, but few good crystallized Calcite specimens have survived. This piece features fine, sharp, translucent to gemmy, lustrous, copper-tinted Calcite scalenohedra surrounded by somewhat arborescent Native Copper from the famous Copper Country of Michigan. This was probably collected in the 1950s. The piece is from an old East Coast collection, with a label from noted New Jersey dealer, John Albanese.
