Calcite with Chalcopyrite (Feist Coll.)

Item Description

A showy, "double-barreled", calcite crystal cluster very aesthetically angled on matrix from the famed Sweetwater Mine of Missouri. The pseudo-hexagonal, transparent to translucent, lustrous, amber calcite crystals have sharp, pyramidal terminations. The doubly terminated crystal is 5.3 cm long. One side of the sparkly, silicified limestone matrix is richly accented with iridescscent, brassy chalcopyrite crystals. Very nearly pristine, with only trivial edgewear on the lower end of the upper, calcite crystal. Classic Viburnum Trend material from the George Feist Collection, # 270. Displays beautifully from either side.
