Calcite with Chalcopyrite

Item Description

Here we have an attractive Pea Ridge Calcite and Chalcopyrite association specimen. The translucent crystals of silvery Calcite are included with and associated with sparkling iridescent Chalcopyrite. This mine is generally considered to be outside of the Viburnum Trend, as it was an underground iron mine and not a lead-zinc mine. The mine closed in 2001.
