Calcite with Boulangerite inclusions (floater)

Item Description

While we have seen many of these interesting "black calcites" from finds of the late 1990s and early 2000s, this is a unique one! It is an unlikely floating cluster composed of a perfectly symmetrical pair of bladed Calcite spheres (we hesitate to say this is a pair of balls...but it is); and it is tinted a pretty black-gray color by inclusions of Boulangerite. They are 2.8 cm across, respectively, and the luster of the Calcite blades is very good. This is a near-floater, with only one small contact point hard to see on one back edge, if you look closely - otherwise complete all around. A choice miniature, for these particular combinations, this has very good, balanced aesthetics and visual appeal. From the 1990s finds here, and from the Art Soregaroli collection in Vancouver.
