Calcite with Aurichalcite inclusions

The Alex Schauss collection of thumbnails was over 1200 pieces. Within that, the largest single species suite was a passion of his, calcite of all colors and shapes and localities, most of them arranged together in a massive display that shows the diversity of the mineral world through this one species. Within that suite, many well known specimens, shown and exhibited and desired by collectors, were the inclusions. We sold many of the included calcites last year but kept back several for the special 2024 Schauss 2 release, including this unique specimen. This is a blue green (teal blue, perhaps you'd call it) specimen of Calcite that is COMPLETELY and evenly saturated with Aurichalcite inclusions within. The calcite grew over the original aurichalcite, and small needle-like crystals can be seen in the back, and those, plus a diffuse amount of aurichalcite included within the calcite, combine to give this visual effect of a teal blue calcite. This is a large, showy thumbnail specimen with literally unreal-looking color, that leaps out. Note that some lesser examples were out on the market in the past, and mislabelled as Kelly Mine. Kelly Mine is in the same district, but this is not from the Kelly. It is from the much smaller Graphic Mine.
