A impressive and RARE large combination from the Tormiq valley. Calcite is extremely rare from the Alpine-type deposits at Tormiq, well-known for outstanding epidote, clinozoisite, diopside, titanite and adularia specimens. Four startling, large intergrown, translucent, pearlescent complex calcite rhombs to 4.8 cm are dramatically set on the gneiss matrix plate. A classic, lustrous, translucent, green, 2.2 cm twinned titanite crystal with adjoining lustrous bone-white adularia crystals are super complements and accessories. And the matrix is covered with two generations of small adularia crystals, as a bonus. The calcites are pristine in the striking frontal views. The contact on the back of the rear calcite is out-of-sight on this exceptionally RARE and excellent large combination from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this large rarity at $1200, over seven years ago.
