Calcite w/ phantom on Sphalerite

A well-developed phantom is clearly visible near the base of the large scalenohedron on this sculptural pair of gemmy and lustrous amber calcite crystals from the famous Denton Mine. The smaller 4.9 cm calcite is twinned. The aesthetic calcites rest on a matrix plate of rubyjack sphalerite. Very small modest edge wear and contacting noted to both calcites are certainly only minimal detractions. This is a classic and excellent calcite on sphalerite combination from this noted locale. It looks a LOT like an Elmwood calcite, but is subtly different and the sphalerite is slightly different as well - though, you could be fooled from a photo or video. It sure does look "Elmwoody" at first glance, but is actually more rare.
