Item Description
A sculptural and striking large calcite on fluorite combination from the famous Denton Mine and the Ross Lillie Collection # 1336. The handwritten note on his label states: "Very unusual complex crystal of rhombic secondary calcite on early white scalenohedron." The rich straw-yellow rhombs are very glassy, lustrous, transparent to translucent and the translucent fluorite cubes are a pretty variable grape-purple and have very nifty edge phantoms. The large rhomb is 7.8 cm across. This impressive 360-degree piece has multiple display views and is nearly pristine, with only trivial rubbing and one contact to the large rhomb, with little damage. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON. It is hard to see the phantom in the rhombs.
