Item Description

A 6.3 cm, flattened nailhead calcite rhomb is attractively set on matrix with smaller rhombs on this showy and excellent piece from this uncommon Washington locale. The translucent, ivory-colored rhomb has waxy luster. Complete all-around and in excellent shape. One edge has a contact with little bruising, which is certainly only a modest detraction. Tangled fibrous mattes of palygorskite, known as mountain leather, are scattered on the matrix. Ex Art Soregaroli Collection.
