Item Description

Hedenbergite is RARE from this renowned mine. One side of this impressive intergrown cluster of lustrous, translucent, blocky to prismatic calcite crystals is richly included with green hedenbergite needles to 2.5 cm. The large compound rhomb on the end is 4.1 cm across and the elongated doubly terminated prism 4.7 cm long. Some of the glassy calcite crystal faces are beautifully striated. Complete all-around and in great shape, with hard-to-see attachment points where the needles are. Dal'negorsk, like Tsumeb, is renowned for calcite diversity and quality and this is an exceptional combination rarity. Neon-orange fluorescence. Ex Cynthia Payne Collection. Value??
