Item Description
Densely spiky, striking calcite scalenohedrons with multiple terminations are coated with Goethite on this very showy and rare specimen from the famous Campbell Mine at Bisbee. The impressive cluster of translucent calcites reach about 3.0 long. Periphery wear reveals the glassy, translucent colorless calcite and a modest bit of bruising is noted to the tips of some of the coated crystals. The underlying matrix is a hefty granular sulfide. Pink fluorescence of exposed calcite and modest fluorescence beneath the goethite coatings. Ex De Natura (Les Presmyk) dealer stock. Fine calcite specimens, such as this, are very rare from the Campbell Mine. Older material.
