Item Description

A very nifty and sculptural old-time calcite specimen from this historic district. Glassy, transparent to translucent, prismatic, hexagonal crystals, to 2.3 cm, are very aesthetically clustered on matrix. The fluorescent shot shows the tiny, yellow fluorite cubes fluorescing blue next to the pink calcites. The three larger calcites are pristine. It's hard to see a few broken crystals in the cluster. Ex Cynthia Payne Calcite Collection and previously in the Lipman and Morris Museum Collections. A fine old classic.
